This collection of images is about life in the South as I’ve seen, experienced and photographed it for almost 30 years now. These photos are basically documents of people and places that I’ve encountered while living in and traveling through a number of Southeastern states. Images that I find to be visually interesting with a resonance and relevance to the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Unlike many of my other photographs, I think of these as conventional photographs, or photos that follow the formal rules and techniques of the medium. In other words, photographs that look and feel like photographs. These images have been produced with a variety of cameras – 4” x 5” Sinar field camera, a Mamiya RB67 camera (2 1/4” x 2 3/4”), various 35mm cameras and digital format cameras. What’s shown below is only a portion of the entire collection.
